¿Porque me idiotizé cuando de cine me retraté? Recientemente me preguntaron por mi pelicula favorita. Era un entrevista que tenía la intención de revelar una imagen relámpago de la presentadora de la Cena de Navidad de la Empresa. Ahora entiendo porque los famosos se quedan con cara de idiotas cuando les preguntan algo: no se te ocurre nada en ese precioso instante. Personas como yo, celebres por su verborrea, se quedan mudas, como Belinda, o contestan lo que primero se les viene a la cabeza, que no suele ser lo mas indicado, reprsentativo o revelador de su caracter e idiosincrasia. Yo contesté que GHOST y aunque me gusta tanto que la he visto mas de una vez, NO ES LA QUE MAS ME GUSTA. Para empezar la pregunta era bastante chorra. Si vas mucho al cine, si lees mucho, no puedes reducir el tema a una sola pelicula o a un solo libro. Te sale una lista mas larga que la Lista de Schindler, que por cierto no me ha dado la gana ver. Tampoco he visto TITANIC ni LA VIDA ES BELLA. Así de rarita es una. Pero si tengo  que elegir me quedo con :                                                          CASABLANCA. El guión es ágil, divertido con una historia central muy romantica  y otras sentidas y reales con el sabor agridulce de lo pasado.  La utilización de la música de Puccini es un acierto. Al igual que CASABLANCA, es una pelicula redonda, a la que no se lo puede quitar ni añadir nada. CHER esta esplendida y su fantastica interpretación le valió un Oscar; Olivia Dukakis interpreta un personaje entrañable. A mi me chifló el abuelo que en su despiste  gime  compungido al no enterarse al final de la pelicula, del  fenomenal embrollo que acababa de protagonizar su familia. Una delicia. En USA lanzaron la version DVD en 1998.  No me suena haberla visto por estos pagos; pero si la veo, cae.   BALAS SOBRE BROADWAY. Título original: Bullets over Broadway Año: 1994 Duración: 115 min. La Flor de mi Secreto de Pedro Almodovar   Me encantan sus películas, pero segun mi humilde opinion, esta marca un antes y un después. En esta pelicula se revela el cineasta que es: uno de los grandes. Acida, Cruel y Tierna con una escenografía bien cuidada, excelente direccion de actores, personajes bien definidos y humor almodovariano. Merecedora de muchos premios, gran ignorada por los esquivos Goya, a mi gusto, la estrella en el firmamento de Pedro. SINOPSIS Leo Macías, escritora de novela rosa, se oculta tras el seudónimo de Amanda Gris (Marisa Paredes). Paco (Imanol Arias), su marido, participa en una Misión de Paz en Bosnia. Loved every inch of it. It had a British flair with  imagination. My daughters went with me and they did not seem too thrilled about it. They labelled it as kitsch but their thinking so doesn´t bother me in the least. The main characters are very well depicted and a certain teenage love affair between Peter Pan and Wendy is suggested. Second view of The Return of the King Yesterday, Jan 16 I went back for a second view of my favorite trilogy.   I still enjoy it but, Oh Peter, why did you fall for a Hollywood ending? Why did you wasted precious minutes in such a wishy washy farewell scene at the end of the movie and did not show Aragorn and Arwen´s wedding, Aragorn,s homage to Frodo? One of the signs Aragorn gave as the true King of Gondor was his ability to heal. He cured Merry, Faramir and Eowyn. By the way, Eowyn was badly wounded when she killed the Nazgul Lord. When both Eowyn and Faramir were healing in the Houses of Healing they fell in love! You gave us a glimpse of them together but not a clue as to when this happened.Arwen did not attend the coronation, she came afterwards with her regal court, for the wedding! And speaking of moving partings..! When the King said good-bye to his friends, when Elrond held a last interview with his daughter are a much more moving scene than that homo farewell you gave us. Granted it was not easy to adapt the book. But you chose ninny scenes over real moving ones.   More to come....  I havent finished, I just have to go and prepare lunch.

LORD OF THE RINGS The Fellowship of the Ring was a pleasant surprise and I remember I left the cinema on cloud number nine. It was perfect.              The Two Towers had one or two points that nagged me a bit but in general, I enjoyed the movie. These points were: Faramir's twist of character. According to Tolkien he was a far better person than Peter Jackson's portrayal of the young fellow, and Jackson's way of making one believe that there was an attraction between Aragorn and Eowyn, that it was a mutual thing. In the book, she was drawn towards the hero, the future king and he never gave her a second glance. This irked us fans. The Return of the King was dissapointing in the way Saruman was dismissed from the plot and the way Jackson ignored a great display of both grandeur and emotion contained in the arrival of Arwen and her court, disentangled from the coronation part, to be wedded. The Coronation and the Wedding were two very important moments in the life of Aragorn that should have been kept apart, the way J.R.R. Tolkien did it in his book. Instead, Jackson could have shortened the departure at Grey Havens and Gollum's dance near the precipice before he fell. That happened in a flash in the book and Jackson took ages. Also, at the battle of Pelenor, a moment of extreme emotion was wasted, by not showing Arwen's banner unfurled when Aragorn arrived with the corsair's ships and army of dead warriors.
